Now, y'all know how I said I was taking a beginner Photoshop Elements class at www.jessicasprague.com? Have I told you I absolutely fell in love with digital scrapbooking? OMG... I was so excited after I finished the first class, that I went and signed up for the second class as well! AWESOME! I'm SO loving it! Check out these pages...
This is pretty hilarious!!! Group of dancers wearing Hammer Pants flashmob a trendy store and surprise hipsters in skinny jeans. It's HammerTime! http://www.aetv.com/hammertime
I've been wanting to take a class with Jessica for a while now and although I have taught myself quite a bit of Photoshop Elements, I wanted to learn it from the pro and from scratch. I must say, it has been more than worth it. I would never know all of the shortcuts or other nicknacks Jessica shows in this online video class and it's SO great! I'm having a blast! Just check out these first few layouts made with Jessica's templates.....so cool...I lovem'.
Today it's my hubby and my 9th wedding anniversary! I can hardly believe it's been that long! It seems like just yesterday when we met...over the internet. Back then, it wasn't that common. Now, it's more than normal to meet someone on the internet. :D But, I never actually thought it would happen to me. :-) He had sent pictures of himself via Email and I thought, okay, he's obviously using someone else's pictures, because to me he looked like a model...seriously. Then, when I met him in real life, I couldn't believe my eyes and he had this twinkle in his eyes and a smile that almost knocked me off my feet. I must say, I was a little skeptical, because at that point my self-confidence was not at its best and I was thinking "What would this cute guy want with a girl like me....he must be a womanizer." Our beginnings were rough I must say, but at one point he must have realized that I'm "the one" and that was that! And now we have two beautiful children and have been married for 9 years. Who would have thought that something like this would emerge from an internet acquaintance?
This is the card I made for my DH and placed on the dining room table for him. I can honestly say that it was made with love... :D
If you haven't signed up already, sign up NOW while you can! Seating is limited so go, go, go! Email me at memoriesartwork (at) gmail.com to register!
I will be introducing you to the world of scrapbooking where we will be creating a two-page layout. Cost is 29 Euros incl. supplies. Hope to see you there! :-)
Classes will only be held with a minimum of 4 participants.
It's already been 5 days since I last posted, but I've been sooooo darned busy. Between cooking and cleaning, I've been scrapping and scrapping, goodness! But it was a nice weekend nonetheless. Yesterday the weather was beautiful until about 3 p.m. when it started to cloud up. But there were definite pool temperatures out. I was stunned when I walked outside! Wow... well, here is some of what I've been doing....
Working on a 40th bday album.....
(and so many more, but sshhhhh...)
On a client's album....
and a card for a friend who's uncle just died...
I don't digital scrapbook very often, but every now and then I like to play, especially when I get access to free downloads such as from Jessica Sprague. Her stuff is just awesome!
Check out this layout I made called "We are family"....It didn't take too long, maybe 30 minutes.
Now doesn't this just warm your heart? Danny drew this picture for me a few weeks ago when I got upset with him for getting into trouble with one thing or another. The tree is just awesome and it shows he and I with a heart between us and a little lady bug trying to crawl up a stem of grass. And the cute little rainbow. This was truly a great "make-up" picture. The best one I could have ever gotten. :D
You just gotta love him, don't you think? ;-)

And this is what my mom will be getting. Luckily, she has no computer! :-) I thought I would add some stitching to the card for a better "handmade" look and since she doesn't want me to send her any flowers (through the mail), I thought I would just make a "bouquet" on the card. :-) Lasts longer too. ;-)
Since the background looked a bit "empty", (sometimes "whitespace" just doesn't look right on certain projects) I just took my pen and dotted some flowers and hearts for a subtle background.
Okay, so on Friday I finally finally got my iMac back. YYYEEAHAHHHHH!! I'm soooo thankful. I didn't realize how much I depended on it until it was gone. Silly, huh?
At any rate, I looked out on my balcony before and noticed that my (not all too taken care of) japanese azalea tree was in full bloom and so beautiful that I ran upstairs, snatched my canon and shot away. :D
and this photo I took on Easter vacation when I took the kids to the dinosaur park / flower exhibit in Kaiserslautern:
Yes, I'm glad Spring is here and I can't say it enough. I was starting to get depressed there for awhile. I will be posting more now, that is for sure! :-)
So, now I'm 2 1/2 weeks without my iMac, data, software...no printing, no scanning, no applying for jobs. I'm getting super super duper irritated. I call there today (thinking that it should be fixed by today) and get laid off once again. Apparently, the replacement part that Apple sent is also defective!!! So, today, they sent it back to get it replaced, so I'll probably be lucky if my computer is fixed by the end of May at the rate it's going. Thank you Apple for causing so much havoc on my life. Normally....like maybe a few months ago, I would not have needed it soooo badly, but now I have such a TON of projects that I need to complete including scanning, printing photos, titles, printing invoices, terminating certain services via letter (with signature) ...- now keep in mind, I cannot print.....and last, but not least applying for jobs and that there really ticks me off royally!!!! I can't do anything, but write emails. And I was sooo praising Apple ever since I got that iMac. Make me look like a complete idiot now, so...thank you Apple...thank you very flipping much!
So, Apple was kind enough to see past the warranty expiration and is fixing my iMac for free as we speak. THANK YOU Apple!!! You don't know how grateful I am, really. This time I'm getting Applecare, for sure! I've missed this thing (and my data and software)... SO MUCH! I'm hoping it will be up and running by Thursday. :-) Latest Saturday. (please?)
